The Beatles legend met with fans at a Virgin Megastore, in London, yesterday (Nov 22, 2006) where he signed copies of his new classical album, "Ecce Cor Meum."
One concerned follower Danny Jones said to the 64-year-old musician: "Paul, I'm really sorry about your troubles. How are you doing?"
To which Paul replied: "I feel fine, I'm doing fine, thanks."
More than 1,200 fans queued for over two days to meet their idol and the first person in the waiting line, 50-year-old Joaquin, flew all the way from Spain to get his spot on Monday morning (Nov 20, 2006). He said: "It was worth it."
Earlier this week, Paul was left reeling after Heather said she would rather "chop off her limbs" than go through her split with the legendary musician again.
The former model – who lost her left leg in a road accident in 1993 – said in an interview with US TV show Extra: "I would rather someone come up and chop off all my limbs than go through what I went through."
"If your limbs are chopped off you get another limb and there's light at the end of the tunnel."
"It's wrong when you're vilified for doing nothing but falling in love with an icon. I'm a good person. I was just madly in love. Blindly in love."
